Operations and Programs Manager Rafe Shaffer joined the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy in September 2024. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, just a few blocks from historic Prospect Park, Rafe built his decade-plus career in parks conservancies. His tenure has included time as an educator, public programs manager, institutional giving manager, and corporate partnerships manager.

Rafe is thrilled to join PPC and is inspired by the scale of the parks, the organization’s mission, and its emphasis on access, equity, and environmental justice. Rafe is dedicated to providing safe and clean parks and an excellent visitor experience.
