Hayden Bernhardt
Hayden is a Project Manager of Community Projects and Engagement at the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. He grew up in Squirrel Hill and spent much of his childhood biking, walking, and exploring Frick Park—experiences that sparked his early interest in public space and shaped the way he sees the city.
He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, where he focused on Pittsburgh’s public stairways and steep terrain, studying how these features shape neighborhood access and how they can be better maintained and reimagined.
Today, Hayden works to improve trails, support community-led projects, and strengthen access to public greenspace across the city. It’s a role that lets him give back to the landscapes that raised him—and help shape a more connected, resilient, and welcoming future for everyone who calls Pittsburgh home.
