SEEN: Hat luncheon patron party
“I have seriously wanted to do this for about 20 years,” confessed Crockard. “I used to have a dream board with magnets and some of the things that were on there were to chair the Ballet Ball and to be a chair for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.”
She has accomplished both, choosing the theme “All Seasons” for the party Thursday and the luncheon on May 7. “The parks really are our parks for all seasons,” she said.
The event acted as a kick-off for the hat luncheon with more than 100 key supporters. Guests mingled around the fountain in the Patio Room before conservancy president Catherine Qureshi thanked everyone for their support.
Peggy McKnight, who has been involved with the Parks Conservancy and chaired the luncheon for a number of years, was there with her husband, Steve. “The patron party is one way to get the excitement going for the luncheon and have people connect,” she said. “It is one of the best events in the city.”
Among the supporters were Vivian and Bill Benter, luncheon co-chairs Latasha and Charlie Batch, Millie Myers, Ellen Roth, Mark and Mary McKinney Flaherty, Dolly and Curt Ellenberg, David Fintan Onufer and Jake Pawlak.
