ABOUT THIS PROJECT
In 2006, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy partnered with the City of Pittsburgh’s Department of Public Works to create the Highland Park Seasonal Pools, transforming a flood-prone lawn along Washington Boulevard into a rare wetland habitat that captures stormwater, improves soil infiltration, reduces maintenance challenges, and provides valuable habitat for local wildlife.
