Schenley Plaza Garden Shows off Flowers Named All-America Selections

The unmistakable high-pitched squeaks and chirps of goldfinches fill the air as they feast on coneflower seeds at the Schenley Plaza garden in Oakland.

While the birds enjoy a meal, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy gardener Jaci Bruschi is hard at work deadheading some special flowers in the shadow of the Cathedral of Learning.

This place is designated as an All-America Selection Display Garden. The plants growing here have won the coveted AAS designation, indicating that they have been grown and judged in trial gardens across the country and Canada. Read full article
