Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Brews up Fun and Funds with New Beer Garden Series in City Parks
The nonprofit teams up with Eleventh Hour Brewing to bring a collaborative series to four local greenspaces and unveils a brand new craft brew.
PITTSBURGH – JUNE 6, 2024 – The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is thrilled to announce the launch of the first-ever "Parks on Tap Tour," an exciting summer series that blends nature, community, and craft brews. Partnering with Eleventh Hour Brewing, this tour promises an unforgettable celebration with something for everyone.
The "Parks on Tap Tour" kicks off on Sunday, June 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the historic Schenley Park Visitors Center. With stunning Schenley Park as the backdrop, attendees can enjoy a variety of refreshing brews from Eleventh Hour Brewing, local live music from Giant's Causeway — a funk rock band that draws from its diverse musical backgrounds and experiences — and yard games, perfectly merging the beauty of nature with the craft beer experience.
Next, the tour heads to Allegheny Commons Park near the newly restored George Washington Monument on Saturday, July 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This event, in collaboration with both Eleventh Hour Brewing and Allegheny City Brewing, is set to be the perfect pregame for the Pirates game that evening.
The excitement continues on Sunday, August 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Park Volleyball Courts. Here, participants will indulge in Eleventh Hour Brewing's craft beers while soaking up the sun-drenched ambiance of Highland Park.
"We're absolutely thrilled to team up with Eleventh Hour Brewing to bring the 'Parks on Tap Tour' to life," exclaimed Alana Wenk, Director of Advancement at the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. "These events are a fantastic celebration of Pittsburgh's vibrant park system, creating an electric sense of community and a deeper appreciation for our city's stunning green spaces."
Each event will feature a selection of craft brews for purchase, including the limited edition "Summer in the Parks" lager—a refreshing, light lager with a burst of zesty lime that perfectly captures the essence of summer. A portion of the proceeds will support Pittsburgh's parks. Attendees will also enjoy access to local food trucks, live music, and various family-friendly activities, making it the perfect outing for park enthusiasts of all ages.
"In our second year partnering with the Parks Conservancy, we at Eleventh Hour Brewing are just as excited now as we were when we started this project in 2023," explained Justin Strzelczyk Jr., Eleventh Hour Brewing's Brand Growth and Strategy Lead. "Sharing a common vision with the Parks Conservancy, it truly means so much to us at Eleventh Hour Brewing to be entrusted as their partner in the beer garden series and to showcase what our parks can offer to Pittsburghers while giving back to the community."
The tour will conclude in October with a stop at the annual Riverview Park "RP Day" celebration.
