New Funds Provide for Expansion of Lawrenceville Parks Improvements

A plan to improve and upgrade Arsenal Park in Lawrenceville will be expanded to include Leslie Park at 46th Street and has garnered an additional piece of funding.

Planning began in May, bringing public, private and nonprofit groups together to begin building on a $70,000 grant from Patrick Dowd, the district’s councilman at the time.

State Sen. Jim Ferlo, D-Highland Park, proposed that the two parks be considered under the same banner and helped secure an additional $75,000 from the Allegheny County Community Infrastructure and Tourism Fund. Read full article
