New Frick Environmental Center to feature water, energy savings

If all goals are met, the new Frick Environmental Center will join just five sites in the world that meet the Living Building challenge, and it will be the only one owned by a municipality.

The $18.4 million reconstruction and restoration project in Frick Park’s northwest corner is 60 percent finished, to be open sometime next year, said Marijke Hecht, project manager and director of education for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, during a tour Friday. Read Full Article
