New Bridge Planned To Be Good Fit For Pittsburgh’s North Side

After more than three years of discussion, the City of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and the North Side neighborhood have settled on a design for a new West Ohio Street Bridge that will cause minimal disturbance to the historic Allegheny Commons park.
But that project is only the first step in replacing a series of bridges that cross above Norfolk Southern tracks as the railroad prepares the area to handle double-stacked rail cars over the next few years.
