McKinley Park Improvement Projects

For more than a decade, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has worked alongside the community and the City of Pittsburgh to enhance McKinley Park. From past restorations to exciting future projects, discover how we’re bringing new life to this cherished green space.

Trail Improvements

In 2025, this project will enhance neighborhood connectivity and accessibility, concentrated on the park's Chicken Hill side, a critical area connecting Bausman Street to surrounding residential neighborhoods.

Community Grove

This project aims to revive a wooded area near Michigan Street as a vibrant gathering space rooted in the neighborhood's history. Design and engineering for the space are progressing in 2025.

Entrance Restoration

The 2013 revitalization of the entrance of McKinley Park in the Beltzhoover neighborhood reconnected the park to its users and its community.

Pittsburgh’s Parks: For Everyone, Forever

Parks bring us together. They are where families make memories, neighbors connect, and people of all backgrounds and abilities can find joy in nature. No matter who you are, parks are for you. And in return, they give us so much—fresh air to breathe, green spaces to explore, and a sense of home in the heart of our city.

At the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, we believe parks are essential. We’re committed to caring for them today and for generations to come.

Join us in keeping Pittsburgh’s parks thriving.
