The “Let’s Talk About Parks” series is designed to encourage exploration and discovery of Pittsburgh’s urban parks.
There is no way to escape snow if you live in most of the northern states of our country, and there is definitely no way to avoid it if you live in Pittsburgh. Everyone has a favorite memory of snow, too. You may remember a snowball fight on the Schenley Park overlook or a snow sculpture you built in the Mellon Walled Garden.
If you take a hike on the trails of Emerald View Park, you will definitely remember the view of the snow-covered slopes, icy rivers and majestic buildings of the Golden Triangle. Follow the central path in Allegheny Commons that runs parallel to East North Avenue and you see the sight of a George Washington statue, surrounded by soaring, snow-dusted trees.
