The “Let’s Talk About Parks” series is designed to encourage exploration and discovery of Pittsburgh’s urban parks.

Nothing in nature heralds the arrival of summer quite like the firefly and the sight of hundreds of flickering lights shimmering in the evening sky.

Of all the different animals on Earth, insects are the most numerous, and of insects, beetles are the most diverse. Fireflies, also called lightning bugs, are in the beetle family, although they are the only species of beetle that shines as bright as a star. Read Full Article
