A walk in one of our city parks after an early fall shower brings out a new world. Everything is wet and shiny, and mist can make the woods look spooky. But in a few days, the most amazing part of that rainy day will come alive as incredible mushrooms appear. Fungus — or its plural, fungi — feed on living or dead organisms like soil, leaves or trees, and become visible to us when their spore-bearing bodies form.
