Grable Foundation Grants $50,000 to Help the High School Urban EcoSteward Program Grow

Last spring, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy teamed up with City Charter High School and the Student Conservation Association to create High School Urban EcoStewards program.

Urban EcoStewards are ordinary citizens who make a long-term commitment to care for a specific section of park land. With help from the Frick Environmental Center, the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association and the Mount Washington Community Development Corporation, a group of students learned to perform the same ecological restoration work that adult Urban EcoStewards do. Read full article
