Schenley Plaza Kids Days are back, and this time, better than ever! Join us for the kick-off our revamped PITTSBURGH PARKS CONSERVANCY FAMILY DAYS! The events are going to be bigger, bolder, and even more welcoming than before!
The season blasts off in Allegheny Commons Park with a Northside Family Day celebration, then moves over to Riverview Park for a special day of fun at Observatory Hill. The rest of the season returns to the heart of Oakland, in Schenley Plaza. Guests can expect live performances with special guests, jammin' tunes, meet and greets with feathered friends, balloon animals, and fun for everyone!
This year, we're teaming up with friends from the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Festival Opera, the Moonshot Museum and more! We can't wait to welcome you to our enhanced Family Days in Pittsburgh's Parks!
2025 SCHEDULE
Hello, Neighbor! Northside Family Day Celebration
June 29 (11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Allegheny Commons North, near George Washington Monument
Come on out and meet and your Northside neighbors as we celebrate the first Family Day of 2025. Join us for music, balloon animals, fun food, airbrush tattoos, and lots of activities for the whole family. Kid-friendly performances by Pittsburgh Festival Opera, and Azure Concerts Pittsburgh. Meet us near the George Washington Monument in the northside of the park behind the National Aviary.
Galactic Family-Adventure Day!
July 27 (4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.)
Allegheny Observatory, Riverview Park
It's an adventure under the stars on Observatory Hill as we present a family adventure day dedicated to space exploration! Join the Conservancy, the Moonshot Museum, the Allegheny Observatory, and others for an exciting lineup of fun, learning, and visitors from a galaxy far, far away! Observatory tours begin at 6 p.m. Bring a blanket and a lawn chair and relax on the lawn at dusk for a screening of Woman in Motion, a documentary film that explores actress Nichelle Nichols' daunting task to launch a national blitz for NASA, recruiting 8,000 of the nation's best and brightest to fly in space.
Flights of Fancy Summer Extravaganza
August 10 (11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Schenley Plaza
Join the Conservancy as we join forces with the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh for a family extravaganza celebrating reading, storytelling, and flights of fancy. This jam-packed day will include free carousel rides, activities, live bird meet-and-greets, costumed characters, and so much more.
