Leadership Grove Volunteer Tree Planting Event
Meet at the fountain behind the Frick Environmental Center
Learn more about tree tending and our newly formed group, the Leadership Grove, in this volunteer event to plant more trees in Frick Park’s Clayton Hill! Supplies provided. Contact Elizabeth at emick@pittsburghparks.org or 412-682-7275 x240 with questions. RSVP by March 18. Registration required.
Attire / Tick Warning: Please be sure to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, long pants (ideally tucked into socks or boots) and long sleeves which offer a good first layer of protection from poison ivy, thorny shrubbery, ticks, and other biting insects. Lighter colors are recommended to help spot ticks. As we will be outdoors and in the sun, please also wear sun protection like sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses, if needed.
Equipment: Gloves and tools will be provided by the PPC, along with bug spray and Tecnu wash (for poison ivy). Please bring a filled water bottle to stay hydrated.
