BOOM Concepts Presents: Collective Legacy II at the Frick Environmental Center

Collective Legacy II is an exhibition presented by BOOM Concepts to celebrate its 10-year anniversary, showcasing an expanded, intergenerational review of Western Pennsylvania’s Black arts practitioners. Featuring diverse practices, experiences, and influences, the exhibition highlights over 50 years of Black arts in the region, drawing from critical research, exploration of institutional archives, and studio visits with contemporary artists across the Greater Pittsburgh area.

Opening reception to include beverages and light refreshments. Families welcome. Select works will be for sale.

Hosted across multiple sites, including the Frick Environmental Center, Pittsburgh International Airport, and Emerald City, Collective Legacy II operates across Each venue engaging unique themes, with works at the Environmental Center exploring recycling, reuse, and resiliency. Centered around a singular work from Carl “Dingbat” Smith, the exhibition spans a wide range of expressions, from mixed media paintings to sculpture and classic photography, capturing the essence of the Black diasporic experience.”

Note: These programs are popular and fill quickly. There are many people that would like to attend but cannot when the program fills. If you register we strongly hope you will either attend or cancel your registration at least two days in advance.
