Tending the Garden with Jamila Raegan – Frick Environmental Center

May 21 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Tending the Garden with Jamila Raegan is a meditative workshop that invites participants to reconnect with the earth through ancestral practices. By engaging with plants and natural elements, we honor the wisdom of the past while investing in our own growth. This gathering is about nurturing ourselves, cultivating knowledge, and deepening our roots.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky Jamila Raegan’s creative practice was formed at an early age by her mother, a painter and her father a criminal defense attorney and music enthusiast. Researching the intersections of art, science, social justice, and their shared histories has become an avenue for learning that utilizes art as a maker’s way to meaning and hence a tool for survival and a way of life.

Programs at the Frick Environmental Center are supported by the taxpayers of Allegheny County through a public grant from the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD).
