Ecosystem Investigators is a field trip program for middle school students that connects science class to what's living and happening in the world around us.
Students use the same tools and methods as scientists collect data and learn what it means for an ecosystem to be healthy. They then explore and build an understanding of the benefits ecosystems provide, and how humans impact our environment - both positively and negatively.
Here on our website, you'll find video lessons and worksheets to explore on your own or with your teacher(s), parent(s), guardian(s), or students. In these activities, we explore pieces of the food webs found in Frick Park, show you some ways to explore a stream, and practice observing and understanding the structures that allow different organisms survive in their habitat.
