The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy will hold live virtual events to observe Earth Day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 22.
Participants can join in by visiting the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy’s social media channels, such as its Twitter account @pittsburghparks. The Parks Conservancy will share the activities on its Earth Day webpage following the events.
Live events will include two Q&A sessions with Parks Conservancy naturalists, a Nature in Your Neighborhood discovery scavenger hunt and Storytime with a Parks Conservancy Naturalist.
“Studies show that spending time in nature provides many long- and short-term physical and mental health benefits,” says Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy CEO Jayne Miller. “This year’s Earth Day celebration is especially important because so many of us depend on nature to help us cope during this uncertain time. Nature is very giving, and we need to do everything we can to take care of it and give back.”
Information about the conservancy’s 2020 Virtual Earth Day Celebration will be available at pittsburghparks.org.
