Teacher Workshops

The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, in collaboration with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Chatham University, the Frick Environmental Center, Conservation Consultants Inc. and Earth Force, developed the Pittsburgh Environmental Teaching Workshop.

The week-long course for local educators focuses on humans’ interaction with the environment by addressing environmental education standards on topics such as watersheds, built environments, renewable and non-renewable resources, environmental laws and ecosystems, and environmental health.

Following the workshop, teachers create a plan to incorporate what they learned and a park field trip into their curricula. Teachers receive ACT 48 credits.  (This program is not currently being offered.)
