Regional Parks Master Plan

The Pittsburgh Regional Parks Master Plan was developed by the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and the City of Pittsburgh with tremendous public input. Originally released in 2000, the plan is a 20-year blueprint for park restoration and prioritizes park capital and ecological restoration projects in Frick, Highland, Riverview, and Schenley Parks totaling more than $113 million.

The Master Plan contains a history of each park, environmental conditions, and recommendations for future projects and maintenance.

The plan can be downloaded in full by clicking here (PDF file).  Right-click and save it to your desktop, as it is a 12.6 MB file!

2010 Regional Parks Master Plan Update

Plans are currently underway to update the Master Plan with new projects that have become priorities over the past 10 years.  A series of public meetings will be held to gather input from the communities surrounding each regional park.  You can share your thoughts with Parks Conservancy staff and consultants in these two-part sessions, which include an open dialogue followed by a mobile workshop highlighting a specific area in each park.  You may attend one or both of these sessions.

A schedule is below; we will update with complete information as it becomes available.  These sessions are open to all.  Please let us know you're coming by checking which sessions you plan to attend at the bottom of this page or call 412-682-7275, ext. 227.

If you are unable to attend a meeting, please feel free to share your thoughts on what the parks mean to you, what needs to be repaired, and what's working well in our online feedback forum at www.pittsburghparks.yuku.com.
