Naming Opportunities
Become a namesake in support of our parks. Contact the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy at 412-682-7275 to make a gift. You can also purchase a chair, brick, bench, or drinking fountain by clicking here.
Bricks at Schenley Plaza
Honor a loved one or see your name at Schenley Plaza by helping us personalize the walkway along the Plaza Oval and tent. For $250, you can personalize up to three lines onto a brick, and become a permanent fixture at Schenley Plaza.
Chairs at Schenley Plaza
Schenley Plaza’s moveable chairs encourage informal socialization throughout the park. Moveable chairs and tables mean that you can shift with the sun, or move under the Plaza tent if it starts to rain. For $125, you can personalize a plaque in honor of a loved one and have it affixed to one of the chairs.
Park Benches
The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and the City of Pittsburgh have agreed upon a standard bench design that is being introduced throughout the city parks. These handsome wooden benches recall the historical design of Pittsburgh’s park benches, and can be personalized with a three-line plaque for $2,000. You can see examples of these benches bordering the Highland Park Entry Garden.
Alternatively, there are six-foot blue stone park benches that can be personalized for $3,000. You can see examples of these benches behind the Reynolds Street Gatehouse in Frick Park and behind the Panther Hollow Meadow in Schenley Park.
Drinking Fountains
During the parks’ early 20th century heyday, sculptor Frank Vittor developed what is known as the dolphin drinking fountain, a distinctive aquatic-themed fountain that was used throughout the park system. Today, three original fountains remain: one at the Schenley Park Visitor Center, one in Highland Park, and one in Mellon Park. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has replicated this fountain, and new models are now being installed in the parks. You can have a new fountain fabricated, installed, and personalized for $10,000.
