Hill District Projects
Overlook Project
The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is partnering with Find the Rivers! in the Hill District to renovate Cliffside Park, creating a scenic overlook, nature playground, and performance space in this community park on Cliff Street. Find the Rivers!--a partnership of Hill House Association, the Hill District Consensus Group, Community Partners Institute, and the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy--is working to strengthen the Hill District’s connection with the rivers and the rest of the city.
Klavon Design Associates is developing a master plan for the park. Projects will be implemented as funds are raised, starting with the Overlook.
The Parks Conservancy is serving as the project manager and fiduciary agent for this project. For information on how you can contribute, contact us at 412-682-7275. For more information about this project, visit www.findtherivers.net.
Hill District Greenprint
Find the Rivers! is also working to create an overall plan for future green space in the neighborhood. The “Greenprint” project is being led by Hood Design, with team members Arup and Studio for Spatial Practice. They are working with the community to determine the best locations for parks, gardens and trails and to identify strategies for developing a system of these green spaces. The project is aimed at reconnecting people to place, and establishing visual and physical relationships between the Hill District and the neighborhoods and rivers that surround it.
