2008 International Urban Parks Conference

In September 2008, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy hosted the biennial conference of the City Parks Alliance and the National Association for Olmsted Parks. Body and Soul: Parks and the Health of Great Cities brought 602 participants from 10 countries and 31 states to Pittsburgh for powerhouse presentations, highly regarded keynote speakers, and over two dozen on-the-ground tours of Pittsburgh’s remarkable progress. A complete archive of the conference including photos, video, speaker presentations, and press coverage is available at www.urbanparks08.org.
